So, I Dress like a Scorpio…

Are you interested in astrology? Part of me wants to believe it and the other part just laughs at the obtuseness of horoscopes. I’m most interested in the characteristics designated to each astrologic sign. If you ask me, in terms of personality traits, I’m a Scorpio through-and-through. I’m secretive, seductive and stubborn— it’s the trifecta.

“What does astrology have to do with fashion?” you ask.

In magazines, there is always an article about the sartorial style of each sign— in the December 2010 issue of ELLE Joe Zee just wrote a 2011 fashion horoscope article, “Style A to Zee: Sign Language”— and, like always, I rolled my eyes and thought, I may be a Scorpio, but I don’t dress like one. Ever!

Dear Winnie, dearwinnie.com, Dress like a Scorpio, Style from A to Zee, Sign Language

Suddenly, over the weekend while doing a bit of online shopping, I realized I’m currently only attracted to clothes that are black, gray, wine or navy. Then I went back to the ELLE article and all other fashion horoscope articles, and what colors did I see? Black and Wine with the occasional bit of dark blue and gray.

So, I’ve decided to accept my Scorpioness and all the semi-goth color choices that come with it. I will use my wardrobe to exemplify my three favorite S-words, but I refuse to look as if I frequent True Blood’s vampire-club Fangtasia.

Do you believe in astrology, and if so, do you dress like your sign?
